Thousands of fake MYOB invoices have started hitting inboxes this week. It involves a legitimate looking invoice being sent to email accounts that appear to have been sent from MYOB. When clicking the “view invoice” link, the user is directed to a Share Point website that downloads malicious software, stealing sensitive information from web browsers.
The best way to deal with dodgy looking emails is to never click on the link. If unsure, Google the subject line in the email which will often bring up notices online about the scam. Also, hover over any links in the email to make sure that it’s not sending you to a foreign website. Just don’t click on the links!!
